I come from a family of chefs, but after a 20-year break from serious cooking, I was unsure how quickly I'd regain my rhythm. With just four chops, I was back in the groove, thanks to the Zwilling Pro 8” Chef's Knife. I've used many knives, but this one is exceptional. The blade glides effortlessly, slicing through raw chicken as if it were soft butter. The curved bolster promotes a natural pinch grip, and the full tang, triple-riveted handle ensures a solid balance and control. Although the handle is heavier than I anticipated, I'm confident I'll adapt quickly. The handle is comfortable, sturdy, and built to last. I can't recall the brand of my previous knife, but I can unequivocally state that this knife is exceptional. It inspires a desire to cook more, and after two decades away from real prep work, that's saying something. If you're hesitant, I encourage you to make the purchase. This knife deserves a place in your kitchen.
The knife looked excellent upon opening the package and had a pleasant feel. It was well-balanced. I will provide an update after using it a few times.

Sharpened review:Upon receiving the knife, I was impressed by its attractive appearance from the package. It felt nice in my hand and was well-balanced. I will offer more detailed feedback after using it extensively.
Review with improved flow:The knife, upon arrival, was an appealing sight from its packaging. It felt comfortable in my hand and maintained a good balance. I will offer a more comprehensive review following its frequent usage.
Six years ago, I bought a knife set and was very satisfied with it. The serrated knife from the set was identical to the one my sister accidentally damaged. Delighted to have found a replacement.
I bought this knife for approximately $100 USD after a discount. Previously, I had purchased an American-made knife from a well-known manufacturer for a higher price. Despite my preference for US-made products, this knife caused numerous issues. The edge would roll and chip, requiring frequent repairs. I contacted the company for a replacement, but they claimed the knife had been mistreated. I used it mainly for dicing carrots.
Upon receiving this knife, I was impressed by its build quality. It appeared solid, sharp, and had a good weight. I appreciated the tapered bolster for pinch grip and found the handle comfortable. I prepared vegetables, including carrots, for a stew without any rolling or chipping. This high-quality chef's knife offers excellent value for the money, with top-notch steel, comfort, and durability.
Purchased a knife on sale with an unexpected red three-part box. Delighted by the surprise as it wasn't the standard black see-through hanger package. The knife was stunning with a matted sheen and beautiful grind marks. Extremely sharp, effortlessly sliced through paper, vegetables, and even an onion. Despite its weight, it felt comfortable in the hand and was great for a pinch grip. Highly recommend this knife and plan to buy the traditional model with a different blade profile, being a knife enthusiast. Thrilled with the purchase! BD!!
I have owned five Zwilling Pro knives: a 10" chef, 5" boning, 7" fillet, 4" paring, and now an 8" chef knife. Each has required adjusting to its unique balance and blade curve. The 8" chef knife has significant weight towards the handle end and a deep blade curve, ideal for rocking cuts but making the knife seem shorter than 8 inches. I must initiate slices closer to the handle to avoid running out of blade length for small items like scallions. Despite the initial adjustment, I find the 8" model more versatile for my use. I have large hands but prefer its shorter length. My wife, with smaller hands, favors a lighter 6" chef knife. These knives are of superior quality and simple to sharpen with contemporary electric sharpeners, such as Trizor, with no hindering bolster.
