I previously owned 2 of this thermos model, I like them so much that I've decided to buy it again a third time and for the first time at Walmart, unfortunately Walmart didn't send me the color and model I've selected, so I've returned it. I didn't want to post the Walmart misfortune experience here but since I've tried to give my honest review on their website which they rejected it, that was one of the reason why I've decided to reordered this product on Amazon again. My order came very fast with Prime and I am very satisfied. My 3 years old started to use this thermos since she was 2 years old. It's very easy to use. I only wished that the straw was durable or maybe it's just my toddler nibbling on it too much. I had to replace the straw 2 or 3 times in a year. Hand washing it is easy too with the right brushes. I haven't tried it on the dishwasher yet. I highly recommend it and I strongly advise buying extra straw with this thermos. I hope my review can be helpful.

These are the absolute best stainless steel bottles available for toddler/preschoolers. My daughter is 18 months and has been using one since 13-14 months for water. She was using plastic straw cups for milk, but I finally bit the bullet and got another one of these for milk. My 4 year old loves her plastic Frozen bottle, but I’m replacing it with one of these as well!

They clean so easily. They don’t stink. A little heavy for a small baby, but by the time they get into toddler age it’s the perfect size. My daughter can also easily open and close it herself as of a month ago. Keeps things cold for hours! Falls and never breaks or gets dented.

If the bottle is open, it can leak but it’s minimal. It also depends on how exactly it’s laying, it doesn’t always leak. This doesn’t bother me at all for all the other benefits!

I was looking for a replacement water bottle for my 7-year-old. We had Hydro Flask before until he lost it. As I was browsing through different water bottles on Amazon, I noticed there are 3 different types of straws for water bottles - hard straw (like what Hydro Flask has),
silicon, single-cut straw (Cambelbak uses this kind), and
standard silicon straw (this is what this Thermos Funtainer uses).

I am going to give you the pros and cons of each straw type.

Hard Straw:
Pros
It's easy to clean and seals well. I didn't experience any water skills with our previous Hydro Flask.

Cons
This may not be a con for most people, but if you like the soft texture of a silicon straw, then you wouldn't enjoy this type of straw.

Silicon, Single-Cut Opening Straw
Pros
It seals water pretty well, and we occasionally experience a water spill with this type of straw, but it is no big deal. Unlike the hard straw, the texture of silicon won't leave you feeling like you're biting a chunk of hard plastic whenever you drink from the bottle.

Cons
Because the opening is a single cut in the middle of the top end of the straw, the spout will wear out over time, and you will need to purchase a replacement. The design of the spout might be slightly difficult to clean.

Standard Silicon Straw (what this water bottle uses)
Pros
Again, the soft texture enhances the user experience.

Cons
Combining a standard silicon straw and a spring-operated single-hand opening results in a water skill, should you fill water all the way up to the bottle. The opening button is cleverly designed to be sensitive (perfect for the target customers - mainly kids), but if you have a water bottle, the water will leak from the straw. We had an incident where we put the filled Thermos Funtainer in a bag together with my son's homework, and we discovered the homework was damaged by water. When I investigated further, I found this water bottle to be the cult.

Overall, this is still a great water bottle. We like the quality of the brand. However, you want to consider a couple of things before making the purchase. 1. Cleaning: the straw of this bottle comes in 2 small parts. You will need a small straw-cleaning pipe to do the cleaning. 2. Size: I doubt you can fill up 12 oz of water for this water bottle, so if you're buying it for a younger toddler, this is perfect. Consider purchasing one size up for older children.

Good bottles. It's my 6th purchase since my kids love these funtainers so much. The deigns are great and they are easy to tare appart and throw in the dishwasher. You can push easily the button to open the top... wich is great to prevent the straw being dirty since kids take them everywhere. They are made with good materials and the liquids inside stay cold for rhe day. I would definitely recommend buying!
